At MAY Show - classes 2, 3, 4, 5, are qualifiers for the BHS Championships.

1ST AND 2ND PLACED COMPETITORS IN CLASSES 2,3,4, AND 5 ARE ELIGABLE FOR EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIPS.

RING 1judging starts 2 pm

6. Novice Working Hunter - Rider any age, Horse \ pony any height

MAX HEIGHT OF FENCES 2` 3”. NOT TO HAVE WON A 1ST IN ANY WORKING HUNTER CLASS.

7. Working Hunter - Open MAX height of fences 3’

8. Working Hunter - Over 14hh upto 15hh MAX height of fences 3’

9. Working Hunter - 14hh and under MAX height of fences 2’ 6”

At MAY show classes 7,8,9 are qualifiers for the BHS Championships

1ST AND 2ND PLACED COMPETITORS IN CLASSES 6,7,8,AND 9 ARE ELIGABLE FOR WORKING HUNTER CHAMPIONSHIPS.

RING 2 judging starts 10 am

10a.- Riden Mountain and Moorland - Welsh C \ D, Dales, Connemara, Fells, Highland New Forest to be shown in natural state

10b.- Ridden Mountain and Moorland - Welsh A \ B, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland to be shown in natural state.

11. Ridden Arab - Pure, Part-bred or Anglo

12.Pony of Hunter Type - 13hh and under

13. Pony of Hunter Type - Over 13hh to 14hh

14. Pony of Hunter Type - Over 14hh to 15hh

15. Ridden Hunter - 15hh and over

16. Lead Rein Pony - 12hh and under , rider 7 years and under

judgeg 50% manners, 25% turnout, 25% confirmation

17. First Ridden Pony 12.2hh and under Rider 12 years and under

( Snaffle Bridels Only )

18. Best Riding Pony - 14.2hh and under - Rider any age

19. Best Riding Horse - Over 14.2hh Rider any age

At MAY Show - classes 10a, 10b, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, and 19 are qualifiers for the BHS Championships.

Qualifiers in the Mountain and Moorland classes must be fully registered with their breed society to qualify for the BHS Championships

20. Best Condition In - Hand - Horse or Pony any height

21. Youngstock - Filly , Colt or Gelding any type born in or after 1994 COLTS must be handled by an ADULT 18 years or over

22. Veteran In - Hand - Horse \ Pony 15 years and over

23. Young Handlers - Pony any height, handler 10 years and under judged on handlers skill and ability to show their pony in - hand

RING 3 - judging starts 12.30 pm

24. Arab In - Hand - Pure, Part - B

red or Anglo

25. Horse \ Pony of Hunter Type in - hand - 14hh and over

26. Horse \ Pony of Hunter Type in - hand - Under 14hh

27. Mountain and Moorland In - Hand - To be show in natural state

to follow on 1st and 2nd placed competitors in classes 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, and 27.

RING 4 judging to start 10 am till 12 noon

28. Handy Equine - Rider 14 years and under on 1. 1. 1997

29. Handy Equine - -Rider 15 years and over on 1. 1. 1997

Handy Equine classes will be open for 2 hours in the morning and anyone entering these classes must compete within these times.

30. Bonny Pony \ Horse - Pet animals only show ponies will not be considered eligible.

At MAY Show Classes 28 and 29 are qualifiers for the BHS Championships

RING 4 judging starts 12 noon

31. Novelty Classes - ( A ) Pony with the nicest tail

( B ) Cheekiest face

( C ) Pony the judge would like to take home

RING 5 Starting at 10 am CLEAR ROUND JUMPING ALL DAY

RING 6 judging starts 10 am

32. Absolute beginners - fences 1’9” Max (first round) - Not to have been placed in any jumping or working hunter class, OR 1st \ 2nd in the previous years ENTRIES IN THIS CLASS MAY ONLY ENTER THIS CLASS AND A NOVICE CLASS.

33. Novice Jumping ( Pony ) 14.2hh & under Fences 1st round 2’

34. Novice Jumping ( Horse ) Over 14.2hh min height 2’ 3” 1st round

35. 13.2hh and under - Fences 1st round 2’6” - Rider any age

36. 14.2hh and under - Fences 1st round 2’9” - Rider any age

37. Over 14.2hh - Fences 1st round 3 ‘ - Rider any age

38. Open jumping stakes - Fences 1st round 3’ - Horse \ Pony any height Rider any age

39. Pairs Jumping - Horse \ Pony any height Rider any age

NOTES ON JUMPING CLASSES

Please note rules regarding HARD HATS, WHIPS & SPURS. Riders must recover a lost hat before continuing, they may dismount or have the hat handed to them without penalty, unless they are in a timed jump - off when the clock will not be stopped. NOVICE is a combination of horse and rider not to have won a first prize in any jumping compition or cross country event in the previous year. A standard may be introduced if numbers warrant.

CLASS 7 OPEN JUMPING. HORSE/PONY ANY HEIGHT, RIDER ANY AGE.

CLASS 8 FUN CLASS. IF TIME PERMITS

NOTES;

HARD HATS WITH CHIN STRAPSFASTENED MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMESWHEN MOUNTED. RIDERS MUST RECOVER A LOST HAT BEFORE CONTINUING. THEY MAY DISMOUNT OR HAVE THE HAT HANDED TO THEM WITHOUT PENALTY,UNLESS THEY ARE IN A TIMED JUMP OFF WHEN THE CLOCK WILL NOT BE STOPPED. CORRECT DRESS MUST BE WORN IN THE RING. ONCE AN ENTRY HAS BEEN ACCEPTED NO MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED. NO ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT THE CORRECT FEE.WHIPS MUST NOT BE MORE THAN 30" IN LENGTH. HEIGHT LIMITS MUST BE ABIDED BY. SPURS MAY ONLY BE WORN BY SENIOR RIDERS (15 YRS & OVER ) AND MUST BE BLUNT WITHOUT SHARP EDGES OR ROWELS.
