Having lived in London, Jennifer moved to Manchester in 1989 to study at the Royal Northern College of Music. She studied with Eduardo Vassallo for five years gaining a GMusRNCM degree and PPRNCM performance diploma. Whilst at College, Jennifer was awarded the Leonard Rose Prize for cello and won all the major chamber music prizes. She was also an active member of the College's Akanthos contemporary music ensemble. In 1993 Jennifer joined the Nossek Quartet who have made several BBC Radio 3 recordings and performed in all the major London chamber music venues. In 1996 they opened the Park Lane Group Series at the Purcell Room with an all contemporary programme. Jennifer has been a member of Psappha Contemporary Music Ensemble since 1993. She has performed as a soloist in many of their concerts, including Anthony Gilbert's Moonfaring with Tim Williams, John Casken's A Spring Cadenza, Nigel Clarke's Spectroscope for Solo Cello and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' Vesalii Icones. Jennifer has performed as a concerto soloist including the French première of John Tavener's The Protecting Veil with the Martel Ensemble in the Dordogne area. Current Vacancy - Flute Dov Goldberg studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with Alan Hacker. On leaving the RNCM in 1988 Dov became a founder member of Jane's Minstrels and subsequently joined the Northern Chamber Orchestra as principal clarinet. He has also played first clarinet with the BBC Philharmonic and Manchester Camerata and he is now a member of the Northern Sinfonia. In 1990 Dov made his London Debut at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the Park Lane Group Recital Series and has since made many solo and concerto appearances. In 1994 Dov was invited to join Psappha by Tim Williams and together they recently premièred and gave the first broadcast of Peter Maxwell Davies' Stedman Doubles (1955) in the original version which had been locked away in the British Library for forty years! |
