The number ov hits so far is a massive
Okay here we go with a brief rundown on the computers ive owned and the setup that i'm currently running. The first machine i had access to was my dads...(most ov them are)...it was ooohhh..a long time ago and was a trusty old sinclair ZX81...i say trusty well thats a joke,if you had the memory module as we did plugged in the back you could spend many a happy hour typing in some prog out ov a mag only to get near the end and the bloody memory module would move and you would end up loosin hours ov hard work
Next came an obscure little number that in its odd way was really quite good, whilst everyone else was beavering around on sinclair spectrums we got an ORIC 1 there wasnt much support for it but it was a much better machine than the sinclair it had real sound none ov the beep shite that you got with the old speccy, it also had 32 colours WOW....
Next came a BBC model B a major step forward..none ov that adjustin the volume on your tape recorder to get your games n stuff to load...NOOO way this sucker had a floppy drive and a real keyboard and a real monitor (no ov that green sticky stuff you stuck on ya telly to make it look like a greenscreen monitor like ya did with the old ZX81 (god wer'nt we sad) it also came with 32k ov memory (KEWL).But mock it as i doo it did bring one great thing with it ELITE one ov the all time great games.
About this time i had discovered the joys ov motoring so i sold the old BBC and bought a car and kind ov fell out ov the computer market for a while. My farther however who had a similar machine carried on and continued to upgrade with variouse PC's 286,386 and 486.
Around about the time ov the 486 i started to gain interest again (i saw DOOM ha ha ha) so when he was considering his next upgrade i managed to convince him i should have the old 486 (for free ov course) that was about 12 months ago if my memory serves me right The spec ov this machine was as follows...486 DX66 , black n white monitor , single speed CD , 16bit soundcard , 8meg ram , Tseng labs videocard and a 240 meg hard drive. After tinkering around with this for a while i soon realised i had got the old computer bug again and began to notice it's limitations (It wouldn't play Quake) so last xmas i did my last upgrade.
So that leaves me with my current system witch is as follows...Pentium 120 clocked to run at 133 , 48 meg ram , 10 speed CD , Cirrus logic 5446 pci 2d video card , Righteouse Orchid 3D card , 15 inch monitor , NE2000 network card , 33.6 modem , Primax handheld colour scanner , 16 bit Yamaha soundcard and a 1.7 gig harddrive.
The only thing i would really like now is a P200 cpu so if youve got one or know someone sellin one then let me know....you can mail me at the bttm ov this screen....
