This happened only few days ago in Alvorada, one of the congregations of Sal da Terra Church in Uberlandia. No one was praying for this blind lady but suddenly, as the preacher was sharing the word of God, she began to shout: "I can see, I can see!!". She was miraculously healed by God's hands.

This congregation was planted less than four years ago and has been growing so rapidly that they have already had to build an extension.


God can heal cancer too

Sao Jorge is one of the poorest areas in Uberlandia where we have another congregation. Some weeks ago one of the deacons, a man who can hardly read or write , came to a lady who attends this church. She had been suffering from cancer in her abdomen and it was at a very bad stage. A very bad odour would come from her because of the advanced stage of the sickness. The deacon gave her a glass of water and said: "Drink it. Jesus wants to heal you". When she was giving her testimony to the church, she said that half an hour later, she felt strange movements in her abdomen. She went to the toilet and the cancer was expelled. She is now completely well and we consider this to be an important sign of God's mercy to the church.


One thousand saved at Christmas Celebration

After a period of 40 days of prayer and fasting, the church decided to have a Christmas Celebration. They hired the biggest gymnasium in the city and invited everyone they could. Three thousand people showed up. After all the songs, dramas, dances etc, the pastor, Paulo Borges, went to the platform and simply invited those who wanted to receive Jesus into their lives to come forward. One thousand people left their places to make a commitment to Jesus.

Although seeing people getting saved has become a normal event in every meeting, the church had never experienced anything like this before.


Another cancer healed and oil from heaven appearing

Silvana was very sick with cancer in her liver. As with the lady from Sao Jorge, this cancer also produced an unpleasant odour from her skin. One day at a Christian retreat, she felt very ill and went to rest in one of the bedrooms. A man came to her and gave her something to drink, saying that she would soon feel better. She then fell asleep and when she woke up, she felt well again.

She got up and went to find the man who had given her the drink in order to thank him, but he was nowhere to be found. No-one at the retreat knew him or had seen him. She had been completely healed by this mysterious person. An angel perhaps?

Some days later, whilst praying on a hilltop with some other Christians, she felt something fall from heaven onto her body and started to look around to see what it was. Suddenly she felt that her hands were wet. She looked and saw that it was oil. The other Christians were amazed at this, especially since the oil had a very pleasant aromatic fragrance.

Since this time the oil has continued to flow whenever she prays and God is using this to bring healing to many people.


People get saved at football matches

Our congregation in Uberlandia has a football team that has a peculiar method of evangelism: before the match, they gather with the other team in the middle of the pitch, share a testimony and a word, sometimes take the guitar and sing a song, and afterwards make an appeal inviting them to receive Jesus into their lives. A copy of the New Testament is always given to everyone on the opposing team. Then the match starts.

A few weeks ago in a small town near Uberlandia, when they made the appeal, the whole team wanted to give their lives to Jesus. The referee began to weep with the players, and someone who was just waiting for the match to start decided to walk onto the pitch to find out what was going on. When someone explained to him, he wanted to receive Jesus as well! Praise God!
