'Be Fruitful' was the theme of the Second Gathering of the
Nations (Go to the Nations Ministry) in Uberlandia, Brazil. It happened from 28th to 30th
May, and there were representatives from England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, United States,
China, and different areas in Brazil. About two hundred people attended the conference at
'Sal da Terra' building, and about 1,200 chairs were occupied in most of the evening
celebrations.
One of the strongest moments of our time together was when Brian Mills,
one of the speakers, shared about 'How we should pray for Europe'. He said about the
blessings and glory of the past, but also the wounds left by the wars, the colonization
and the Crusades.
Brian said that the Brazilian Missionaries came to the UK saying that they are the
children of the European Church - as they received so many missionaries from Europe.
However, instead of finding their spiritual father there, they found a tired old man. 'When you pray for the church in Europe,' he said, 'please remember that we are like this tired old man, whose heart became so
hard that today he finds very difficult to love and to believe that he can be loved.'
At that moment, Brian broke in tears, sobbing aloud. A tremendous sense of God's
presence was all over that place. We could hear other people also weeping, and the Holy
Spirit took the meeting in such a way that Brian could not speak any more.
All the European and American brothers were called to the front, so the Brazilian
church could pray for them and honor them. It was a remarkable time, when we could not
just understand better, but experience how God is joining the nations together these last
days, for the glory of His name.
