Deggendorf gave us good surprises: The size of the church, the warmth of their hearts towards us, the response to the message we shared, and the smile of Helmut Klaes, the elder who invited us.

The building was an old factory or warehouse which the church bought and did a lot of work on to convert it into an inhabitable place of worship. The church can hold at least 1000 people and has facilities both in the ground and upper floors for accommodation and office space to use for a number of projects they are planning to do. The potential in the premises is enormous.

The church's response as the message was shared made the Brazilians feel very at home

We stayed for a meeting on the Saturday night, a regional monthly meeting to pray for revival in the area, and also to take the service on the Sunday morning. The fellowship has about 600 to 800 members, including a very large group of young people. The worship band were excellent, leading us into a place of deep intimacy with Jesus. The Lordship of Christ as King of kings is proclaimed loudly through visual aides. They had a cross draped with a red and golden robe in one corner of the platform and, in huge lettering on the platform curtain, 'Christ is King'.

During the celebration, we heard the amazing - a testimony of Frank, one of the members of the church. God led him in a supernatural way to help a family whose house was burning in the middle of the night in the Czech Republic. (An article not to be missed!)

Pastor Gunther told us about the work he and his fellowship are doing in India with several churches and of their many links in Romania, Greece and Russia.

This was Pr. Gunther's evaluation of the weekend: 'We have many people who come to visit and speak in our church, but I believe that what happened this weekend was something special'. We trust that this initial contact will bring us together again in the near future.
