Luiz Antonio is a gynaecologist and member of our church in Uberlandia. A Lady called Cassia asked him if she could have the placenta when the child after the birth of the child so that she could offer it to "orixas" - a kind of god with authority over some African cults in Brazil. Luiz Antonio shared the message of the Gospel with her, and everything that I report here came out of that.

A few days later Cassia phoned him, asking if he could visit her. He phoned and asked me to go with him, and when we got there, we were amazed to discover that she was the leading witch of the best-equipped centre of witchcraft in our city, located in a large house. Later on we found out that the mayor, bankers and people of influence in the city used to visit her weekly seeking advice, and local newspapers would interview her every year for her predictions for the city.

She shared how she was depressed, frustrated and looking for answers in her life. The night before she had gone inside the centre and asked Jesus to come into her life and take away all her despair. We told her about the way of salvation and prayed, and she confessed Jesus as her Lord. Her husband was there, a young man who used to be an Evangelist of the Assemblies of God in Manaus. Cassia, his wife, had also been living with another woman for 8 years in a lesbian relationship and had been involved with spiritism for 17 years.

On Sunday I went to see her and she was quite anxious because lots of her clients were phoning her up wanting appointments. She used to charge 70 Reais (about 70 American Dollars) each. She didn't receive any of them and decided to have a meeting with all her assistants and "disciples" that night, when she would give them her testimony . A Few minutes before this meeting started, she phoned me, asking if we could be there also.

When we got to her house, from the streets we could hear her preaching loudly, telling them about how she had met Jesus the night before. When we got there we saw her assistants, some dressed in their "vestments", crying, others groaning and others serious, an unforgettable scene!!!

One of her assistants became possessed and went to one of the special rooms dedicated to territorial demons, rolling on the ground like an armadillo. We stayed there for one and a half hours dealing with manifestations of demons and the flesh.

As Cassia continued preaching, her mother and others received Christ. We were invited to preach and pray when brothers from the Assemblies of God arrived . They also participated in the process of preaching the word of God and praying around the centre, which they still do every day. As we were praying and worshipping the living God, some of the assistants left, insulted, while others opened their lives to receive prayer.

After the worship we suggested to Cassia that she should burn everything there used for witchcraft and she said yes immediately . We took a lorry full, I have never seen so much rubbish!!!

We went through every room in the centre, and the woman herself was breaking her covenants with the devil, and saying ‘God loved me and has given me Jesus and now I know that you are a liar Satan, but Christ is now the Lord of this place!!!'

A Few days later she phoned her leaders in Sao Paulo to let them know what had happened. They were furious and when they threatened her, she just said that the blood of Jesus had washed her and she was saved. Alleluia!!! One of the mediums of the city did not believe what he heard and went to talk to her. They are very worried, and keep making phone calls trying to make her change her mind.

It has been the main talk of the whole neighbourhood, and the news should soon spread to the whole city. Cassia now wants the centre to be changed into church and creche and some local churches are helping with the transformation of the building. She is going to every one of her "clients" to give her testimony, including the mayor, who received her last week in his office.
