A group of 11 Brazilian Intercessors went to Bergen -
Norway from the 8th -13th October to pray and bless that nation. Bergen was the most
important city in Norway for many years but today it is the second one. The countries main
harbour is situated in Bergen, through which good and bad things enter and leave the city.
Because of the Viking inheritance in the nation, the believers think that with a special
move of God in that place, many other nations will be blessed.
Norway has 4,337 million people, with 95.3% as nominal
believers, but just about 4 to 5 % of the whole population are born-again Christians,
therefore Norway is a big missionary field in itself. They have many struggle's with
broken families, drugs and suicides, it has the highest rate of teenage suicides in the
world.
The Brazilian group had the privilege of interceding on the
streets of Bergen taking all the above things before the Lord. They also prayed for God's
power and love to make an impact on many different spheres of civic life such as Education
and Government. They prayer walked around the City including the bus and train stations.
We prayed from the top of a hill in the centre asking God to pour out His anointing and
blessing upon the Norwegian people.
On Sunday the team were sent to 7 different churches to
share about what God is doing in our lives. The testimonies of what people recieved during
these times were wonderful: many tears and broken hearts all around.
The Norwegian hospitality touched each of our hearts
dearly. It's marvelous to be part of God's big family. We can see His love being expressed
even though we are not able to communicate in the same language.
We had a very special time when we went to pray with the
mayor of the city in his chambers. The group prayed for the city (it is the highest
building in Bergen) and for the mayor. It was then covered by the main secular newspaper,
including photographs and interviews with the intercessors. One thing we could see amongst
our brothers and sisters in Norway - God is at work in that nation and many blessings are
still to come.
