The following garment styles can be charted with the current volumes of Design-a-Pattern.

Volume 1 : Drop,Raglan (2 types), Set-in (4 types), Sideways, Gusset Insert Sweater.
Volume 2 : Skirts (Gored, Straight, A-line, Sideways, Hip-Yoke), Trousers, Culottes, Shorts, Briefs.
Volume 3 : Darted Tops (5 styles), Saddle & Yoke Shoulder (5 types) & Yoke Neck Sweaters.
Volume 4 : W/coats (6 styles) and Asymmetric Tops (4 types of Double Breasted & Crossover).

Volume 5 : Babies & Doll Sets - One piece tops (3 types) & Sweater top with Curved, Flared or Ribbing Bottom.

All programs use your measurements and yarn guage to draw customised patterns on the screen (measurement directions & starter size options provided). Any size (infant to "mature" figures) can be used as numerous measurement can be adjusted for accurate garment shaping of curves and tapering. Rows and stiches calculated directly from on-screen pattern drawings insure precise row by row stich directions for your measurements and desired shaping. Estimated stich/row/repeat printout options are included. A unique yarn estimator is also provided to determine how much yarn is needed before you knit.

Program text and graphics output can be printed, saved or exchanged with other Windows programs for editing. Graphic BMP files are used for panel grids which can be transferred to Windows PAINTBRUSH or other programs for graphic design. Panel printouts can be overlayed with 1x1 or larger grids similar to a knit leader. Row by row pattern directions will work with any knitting machine because Design-A-Pattern is a stand alone charting program that doesn't require special connections between computer and knitting machine. A user manual with detailed directions and pattern examples is included with programs.

Design-A-Pattern programs require Windows 95 or Windows 3.1 (at least 4Mb RAM). An easy to use program is provided for hard drive installation (2Mb required). Dot Matrix and Laser printers (B/W or Colour) will work for printouts using Windows Print Manager.
